Who is most responsible for our spiritual life?

Who is most responsible person for our spiritual life? Is it our spiritual master or God himself? Or, is it our family or friend's circle? May be the temple devotees? Answering this question may seem confusing but it is very simple. Because we , ourselves are most responsible for our spiritual progress.
. God has come in our life in the form of Spiritual master to help us cross this vast ocean of material existence and We get benefit from our family , friends , devotees and so on for spiritual progress. But who progress? We. That's why we are most responsible.
We can analyze by one example. Suppose our family arranges for our meal. They can work hard to arrange nice meal for us. But it is we who eat that meal. Even if  they arrange for our meal they can do nothing if we want to avoid meal. If we seriously want food then we can get it. It is just a small example.
When it is going home back to Godhead , we must be the most responsible person. It is because no other being can go with us together crossing the ultimate boundary of death. We have to take care of our own plane and if there is any danger , no ther plane can help another.
I came across one verse of Bhagavatam where Srila Prabhupada clarifies it in details:

"When flying an airplane, one cannot take care of other planes. Everyone has to take care of his own plane, and if there is any danger, no other plane can help another in that condition. Similarly, at the end of life, when one has to go back home, back to Godhead, everyone has to take care of himself without help rendered by another. The help is, however, offered on the ground before flying in space. Similarly, the spiritual master, the father, the mother, the relatives, the husband and others can all render help during one's lifetime, but while crossing the sea one has to take care of himself and utilize the instructions formerly received. Draupadi had five husbands, and no one asked Draupadi to come; Draupadi  had to take care of herself without waiting for her great husbands. And because she was already trained, she at once took to concentration upon the lotus feet of Lord Vasudeva, Krisna, the Personality of Godhead. The wives also got the same result as their husbands, in the same manner; that is to say, without changing their bodies they reached the destination of Godhead.Srila Vishwanath Chakravarti Thakua suggests that both Draupadi and Subhadra, although her name is not mentioned herein, got the same result. None of them had to quit the body.
